A succession of freelance bookkeepers had left day to day accounting, payroll, and pensions in a bit of a muddle for Lime Creative. Read how they got things back on track, for good.
Lime Creative Ltd is a creative marketing agency that provides creative, print, digital and PR services to brands including Stena Line Ferries, Gaggenau and The Royal British Legion from offices in London SE1 1GN.
In 2016 the business hit a bookkeeping wall. A succession of freelance bookkeepers had come and gone, each time leaving the books in a bit of a mess. So, the agency decided it was time to get things on track for good and began the hunt for a professional bookkeeper capable of providing support one day per month, on a reliable and continuous basis.
Philip Goldfinch, Managing Director, Lime Creative explains:
“Historically we’d presumed that a freelance bookkeeper would be the natural choice for the agency. We only needed bookkeeping services one day a month, as well as some support with payroll and pensions. However, we faced a huge challenge each time the freelance bookkeeper went on to take a permanent job elsewhere, and so many bookkeepers in a short space of time resulted in a muddle of systems and rather a mess.
Continuity of support became our most pressing need, so we chose Oscar Fairchild. We were impressed by their attitude, approach, and assurances that our dedicated bookkeeper would also be supported by a team capable of stepping in to help without any problem.
Fast-forward to today and Oscar Fairchild and our bookkeeper Anne have been a godsend. We hadn’t realised just what a mess the previous bookkeeper had made until Anne came onboard. The books are well maintained and always completed in a timely fashion, which keeps costs down. As creatives I am sure we are not the easiest or most organised of clients, but Anne copes with us admirably and keeps us on the straight and narrow!
We feel reassured that our books are in the right hands and that there will be continuity of support”.
