Sullivan White is a specialist CIS payment solution to processing payments to subcontractors working within the construction industry.
Main contractors working in the construction industry have an obligation to operate within the “Construction Industry Scheme”. Under the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS), contractors deduct money from a subcontractor’s payments and pass it to HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC).
The deductions count as advance payments towards the subcontractor’s tax and National Insurance. Contractors must register for the scheme. Subcontractors do not have to register, but deductions are taken from their payments at a higher rate if they’re not registered.

Kim Redwood-Lee, Managing Director, Oscar Fairchild says: “So many of the main contractors we support have had their fingers burnt in the past by CIS payroll firms. Shockingly, many companies have appalling customer service track records, lack the legal expertise required to understand the impact of changes to government legislation such as IR35, and in many cases, are also uninsured.
The threat of employment status cases is real. Through the new Sullivan White service, my aim is to give main contractors access to a trusted advisor, experienced legal team, full insurance, public liability cover and the certainty that they can engage self-employed contractors with confidence in an HMRC compliant process”.
We asked Next Generation Scaffolding Ltd, one of the first Oscar Fairchild clients to migrate to the new service, to share their experience.
Sam Barr, Managing Directors said: “Oscar Fairchild’s Eaziserv service has been outstanding. The team has helped us to manage everything from our CIS registration, to developing a system to suit our business and relieving us of the work involved in running our own CIS and payroll. They are always on time with the figures and accurate and are a wealth of knowledge, helping us with whatever challenge we come across. The new service is spot on, and we’d wholeheartedly recommend them”.
