Eaziserv. Oscar Fairchild’s new HMRC compliant CIS payment solution

There are some exciting changes taking place at Oscar Fairchild.  As part of our constant focus on client care we’re thrilled to share that we’re joining forces with highly respected London accountancy firm, The Eazitax Group.

The decision will see our two practices working collaboratively to maximise areas of specialism and expertise, enabling us to expand our comprehensive range of accountancy and bookkeeping services and provide even greater value to our growing range of ambitious clients.

 

What to expect?

The first new service launch – in partnership with sister firm The Eazitax Group – is Eaziserv, a specialist CIS payroll solution to process payments of main contractors to subcontractors working within the construction industry.

Main contractors working in the construction industry have an obligation to operate within the “Construction Industry Scheme”.  Under the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS), contractors deduct money from a subcontractor’s payments and pass it to HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC).

The deductions count as advance payments towards the subcontractor’s tax and National Insurance.  Contractors must register for the scheme. Subcontractors do not have to register, but deductions are taken from their payments at a higher rate if they’re not registered.

 

The CIS scheme requires that main contractors –

• Register with HMRC for CIS
• Check the payment status of subcontractors before payment.
• Submit reports to HMRC each month by a certain date.
• Pay HMRC the tax deducted from subcontractors’ payments.
• Provide subcontractors with statements showing payments and deductions made.

 

 EaziServ CIS Payroll service

The new Oscar Fairchild EaziServ CIS payroll service prevents HMRC from reclassifying main contractor’s self-employed sub-contractors as employees. It manages workers self-employed status, while removing tax and NI liabilities and provides complete protection from HMRC employment status investigation.
