Protect your tax and NI contributions from HMRC investigation
The Oscar Fairchild EaziServ CIS payroll service prevents HMRC from reclassifying main contractor’s self-employed sub-contractors as employees. It manages workers self-employed status, while removing tax and NI liabilities and provides complete protection from HMRC employment status investigation.
The CIS scheme requires that main contractors –
- Register with HMRC for CIS (Construction Industry Scheme)
- Check the payment status of subcontractors before payment.
- Submit reports to HMRC each month by a certain date.
- Pay HMRC the tax deducted from subcontractors’ payments.
- Provide subcontractors with statements showing payments and deductions made.
The EaziServ complete service includes
- Personal service
- AAT certified Backoffice support
- Construction bookkeeping expertise
- Inhouse legal team
- Fully insured
- Public liability
- Access to dispute representation panel
- Insured status protection
- Sub-contractor onboarding & training
- Tax advice & return service
- VAT rebate management
- Status audits
- Payroll services (CIS, Umbrella, PAYE)
- No minimum or maximum number of subcontractors
In partnership with sister firm The Eazitax Group – Eaziserv, is a specialist CIS payroll solution to process payments of main contractors to subcontractors working within the construction industry.
Main contractors working in the construction industry have an obligation to operate within the “Construction Industry Scheme”. Under the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS), contractors deduct money from a subcontractor’s payments and pass it to HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC).
The deductions count as advance payments towards the subcontractor’s tax and National Insurance. Contractors must register for the scheme. Subcontractors do not have to register, but deductions are taken from their payments at a higher rate if they’re not registered.
Kim Redwood-Lee, Managing Director, Oscar Fairchild says: “So many of the construction main contractors we support have had their fingers burnt in the past by CIS payroll firms. Shockingly, many firms have appalling customer service track records, lack the legal expertise required to understand the impact of changes to government legislation such as IR35, and in many cases, are also uninsured.
The threat of employment status cases is real. Through the new EaziServ service my aim is to give construction sector main contractors access to a trusted payroll advisor, experienced legal team, full insurance, public liability cover and the certainty that they can engage self-employed contractors with confidence in an HMRC compliant CIS payroll process”.
We asked Next Generation Scaffolding Ltd, one of the first Oscar Fairchild clients to migrate to the new service, to share their experience.
Sam Barr, Managing Directors said: “Oscar Fairchild’s EaziServ service has been outstanding. The team has helped us to manage everything from our CIS registration, to developing a system to suit our business and relieving us of the work involved in running our own CIS and payroll. They are always on time with the figures and accurate and are a wealth of knowledge, helping us with whatever challenge we come across. The new service is spot on, and we’d wholeheartedly recommend them”.
